FAQ
How is mentalism different from magic?
Mentalism can be understood as a branch of magic which is focused on mental illusions, such as illusions of “mind reading”, “influence” and “mind control”.
What is hypnosis?
Despite hypnotists using the word “Sleep”, hypnosis is actually not sleep. Hypnosis is a heightened state of suggestability where the subconscious mind acts upon various suggestions given by the hypnotist. While Nigel Lew’s mentalism performances may give the impression of “mind control”, they are simply illusions, as hypnosis subjects cannot be made to perform acts against their will or morals.
Is hypnosis safe?
Hypnosis is safe for healthy individuals if done by a certified professional. Health or mental issues arising after a hypnosis performance by a certified hypnotist are often purely coincidental, and often not a result of hypnosis.
Where does Nigel Lew perform?
Nigel Lew is a mentalist based in Singapore, and performs for events abroad outside of Singapore as well. Nigel Lew primarily performs for theatre shows, corporate events, and some private parties.
How does Nigel do all that? Does he use any actors or stooges?
Nigel Lew's performances do not employ the use of any actors or stooges, unless stated otherwise. Generally, random audience members are selected to take part in the performances.
